Esperanza’s Restaurant & Bakery is an extension of Joe T. Garcia’s, featuring incredible food and bakery options for everyone. The migas are too die for!

Downtown, check out The Social House or Little Red Wasp. Both are great for brunch on the weekend with your friends and family

You can’t miss the iconic Cattle Run in the Fort Worth Stockyards. It’s held 7 days a week at 11:30 am and again at 4 pm.

The Stockyards Farmers Market is newer to the area, but the guys who run it aren’t! They’re out here every Saturday and Sunday, so you can come check out an array of local businesses to support.

While you’re in the Stockyards, spend a little time wandering through Stockyards Station to take in the history! The Station used to be livestock pens, but has since been converted into a shopping center.

We can’t forget about Sundance Square in the heart of Downtown Fort Worth. Come hang out under and listen to the live music, play in the water fountain, or just walk around downtown.

The Fort Worth Zoo is probably my favorite thing to recommend to people. The zoo houses over 7,000 animals, AND you can feed a giraffe. How cool is that?!

Another place I always recommend is the Fort Worth Water Gardens. This decades-old attraction brings in locals, tourists, and so many more. It’s a great place to stop and take a break during the summer months. 

In Sundance Square, you’ll find the Sid Richardson Museum. This is an art museum that features permanent and special exhibitions of Western artists. It’s such a unique place to visit, so definitely make sure to add it to your list!

The Amon Carter Museum for American Art is another unique place that you don’t want to miss. Admission is completely free, which means you’ll get to spend time indoors (away from the heat), all while being surrounded by incredible American art. 

Fort Worth Botanic Garden is the perfect place for the whole family. This incredible 120-acre garden features winding paths throughout, and in the spring, it has an amazing butterfly exhibit.  There’s also a Japanese Garden, which is my personal favorite.

If you really want to do some exploring and hiking, head out to the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge. This is a state park with plenty of walking trails. If you get there early, you can also see some bison!

Ready for dinner? Head down to the Historic Southside district and stop in at Teddy Wong’s Dumplings & Wine. (You may want to make a reservation in advance because seating WILL fill up!) 

For some real Fort Worth history, grab a bite at the original Kincaid’s Hamburgers off Camp Bowie. In the 40s, it started as a grocery store with a popular butcher counter. In the 60s, the head butcher started grilling burgers, and the rest is history.

In the Stockyards, you cannot miss out on Joe T. Garcia’s. This is the place to grab a plate of authentic Tex-Mex—you may have to wait in line, but that’s part of the process!

Make sure you’re following Southside Preservation Hall and Rose Chapel so you don’t miss any upcoming shows there, like Weird Wednesdays! This building has a long, storied history in Fort Worth that you can only learn about by getting out there for an event!

Hip Pocket Theatre is, without a doubt, one of the coolest and most unique things you can do in Fort Worth. Every season, they have several shows that you can catch with the whole family.

I absolutely love the Coyote Drive-in Theater and recommend everyone go try it at least once. It’s such a fun way to step back in time, catch a movie, and support a local business.
